Samantha Murphy, 51-year-old, mother of three has been missing since, Sunday, February 4, 2024, after she failed to return from a 7 AM run to Woowookarung Regional Park, southeast of Ballarat, Victoria. The last bit of data from her cell phone/apple watch stopped at the Canadian State Forest, near Mount Clear. She loved running and 10-15 kilometer jog runs were normal for her. She had her iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods. She was due back at 11 AM to attend a family event and when she didn’t show up to it, her husband reported her missing to the police.

John Mitchell Barnett, nicknamed “Mitch,” “Swamp Dawg,” or “Swampy” was an aerospace engineer and Boeing employee. He later became a whistleblower against Boeing. He died at the age of 62 due to a single gunshot wound and police are investigating whether or not he took his own life or if foul play is involved. In the days preceding his death, he was giving depositions in the whistleblower case with his and Boeing’s attorneys in Charleston, South Carolina.
An important dialogue about whistleblower rights is needed at this time, especially when too-large-to-fail companies are running afoul. John put so much on the line to speak up, including his mental state of being and his overall health. Now, we are wondering if his death was an orchestrated hit or the sad ending to a man who has been drained from years of fighting for what’s right.

Jennifer Kesse, a financial analyst with a promising future was last seen on January 23, 2006. On that day, she talked to her dad on the way home from work and then chatted on the phone with her long-distance boyfriend at 10 PM. Jennifer normally texted or called her boyfriend while heading to work, but she did not do that on January 24th.
When she was two hours late for work, her employer called her parents and they drove two hours down to check on things in Jennifer’s apartment. There were wet towels and a messy bathroom area, which suggested she dressed for work in the morning. She and her boyfriend had just returned from St. Croix and her travel bag was still on the floor. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. However, there was a Banana Republic sweater in the trashcan, which presumably did not belong to Jennifer. It was on January 24th that she was reported missing.Â
Surveillance videos and witnesses captured her vehicle being moved from a nearby condo complex to her place, about a mile from her home. On another surveillance camera, there is a person seen walking from where her vehicle was and police are confident this is a person of interest to Jennifer’s case. The sad thing is the fence’s poles obscured the person of interest’s face. It appeared the person was of short stature, wearing what appeared to be white painter’s coveralls, although this is disputed.Â
Another interesting fact is at the time of Jennifer’s disappearance, there was a lot of construction going on in an apartment-to-condo conversion. Some of the day laborers made her uneasy with the catcalls and leering. Another interesting tidbit was that her supervisor had a thing for her and would come on really strong, despite being married. There are many theories as to what happened. Jennifer’s family is highly disappointed in the handling of their daughter’s missing person’s case and one can understand why.
During the most critical part of the investigation, OPD was not doing what needed to be done to gather witness statements or to preserve the evidence. After 18 years, Law Enforcement is no closer to finding out the truth than when they first started investigating. In 2022, the FDLE cold case unit finally picked up Jennifer’s case and is starting over with reviewing all of the evidence.Â
Most can all agree that she is no longer with us in the land of the living. But, the question remains – what happened to Jennifer, and who caused her disappearance? Ana Knezevich is still missing. In this week’s Mystery Mystic Monday installment, we use Divinatory Dice, Oracle and Tarot decks to explore why this happened and what’s next in the investigation. In today’s Mystery Mystic Monday, we are exploring the seemingly curious and mysterious deaths of the three KC Chiefs Fans. I say seemingly because many folks have already made up their minds as to what happened. I’ll catch you up on what I mean by that during reading.
Why do the police say no foul play?Â
Three Friends: Ricky Johnson, 38; Clayton McGeeney, 36; and David Harrington, 37 were last seen alive on Sunday, January 7, 2024, celebrating their favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs winning against the Las Vegas Raiders. They likely died in the wee hours of Monday morning, on January 8th and a death investigation is underway, pending toxicology and the full autopsy report.

We all thought Scott Peterson was convicted and serving his life sentence for taking the lives of his wife, Laci, and his unborn child, Connor. This past week, we learned the Los Angeles Innocence Project has taken up the charge to parse through evidence to see if it will exonerate Scott. Their representation has caused a stir and I figured let’s see what the cards have to say about all of this.
Laci Peterson was 7 and a half months pregnant when she was last seen on December 23, 2002. She was due to give birth on February 10, 2003. Scott reported he left around 9:30 AM on December 23rd to go fishing in the Berkeley Marina. Relatives later reported he stated he had gone golfing. Scott and stepfather reported her missing on December 24th. Scott was immediately suspected in her disappearance and later in her death. It was discovered that he had three affairs, with the last one being with his massage therapist Amber Frey.
Scott was simply not a likable man, and a lot of circumstantial evidence convicted him. He was reportedly fishing for sturgeon in the Berkeley Marina on December 23, 2002 and in April 2003, Laci and Connor were found near those same waters.
The reason the Los Angeles Innocence Project has picked up this case is because it is purported that Scott’s civil rights were violated during the trial, with exculpatory evidence being omitted for the jury to deliberate during his trial.
It was reported that a few days before her disappearance, Laci witnessed a home burglary and Scott’s defense team is arguing that she was kidnapped and killed to prevent her from reporting what she saw to authorities. There is DNA testing from the burglary scene they want to test against DNA evidence collected surrounding Laci’s death.
There’s no weapon or cause of death in this case. Nor, is there direct evidence linking him to her disappearance or death. Yet, many feel the circumstantial evidence was enough to convict and sentence him to death. The death penalty was overturned in 2021 and now he is serving a life sentence out of Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP), in Ione, California. This prison is the “Sensitive Needs Yards,” which was formerly called Protective Custody and it is the only one in the state of California that is designated solely for SNY inmates. Scott’s high profile status would garner the need for him to be in the SNY.
We will explore the energies surrounding Laci’s death. What were the circumstances leading up to her death? We will look to the cards to provide clues on how she died and who caused her death. We will also look for clues to see if her husband was involved and whether or not he will get off with the help of the Los Angeles Innocence Project.

We are exploring the devastating case of Ellen Greenberg, a 27-year-old first-grade teacher and Philadelphia resident, where she shared an apartment with her fiance. On January 26, 2011, a blizzard hit the city, prompting Ellen to leave work and return to her apartment to hunker down. At approximately 6:40 PM, Ellen was pronounced dead as a result of twenty stab wounds, including ten to her back and neck. There was a gaping wound to her head. The stab wounds reached her brain and spinal cord, which would have surely caused severe pain. There were also 11 bruises on her right arm, abdomen, and right leg. The crime scene was initially handled as a suicide by law enforcement. Following the autopsy, the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office initially ruled her death a homicide. Not even a day later, the Medical Examiner backtracked and reversed their position on her death. They officially ruled her death a suicide in February 2011. Her fiance was the one who called the police to report something had happened to Ellen.
In 2019, Her parents filed a civil legal suit against the Philadelphia Medical Examiner’s Office and the Pathologist who performed the autopsy, seeking to change the manner of death to “homicide” or undetermined.” In September 2023, a lower appellate court ruled the manner of death stands, although they found the investigation “deeply flawed.” Her parents plan to appeal the decision to the State’s Supreme Court.
Ellen’s parents have been fighting for over a decade to ensure their daughter receives justice with a proper investigation. What we will be looking at in this reading is, what were the energies surrounding her manner of death – did she take her own life or did someone else have a hand in her demise? If someone else caused her death, who and why? Why was Law Enforcement so set on this being an unaliving situation versus homicide? Is there a cover-up? What’s next in the pursuit of a proper investigation of her death?

Mercedes was headed out for a fun night with friends at Dave & Busters on the night of April 16th, around 9:15 PM. She was last seen entering her apartment’s parking garage on surveillance video. From there, all hell broke loose. According to her loved ones, she was struck on the head, forced into a vehicle, shot in the arm, and abducted from her residence’s parking garage. She was set afire while still alive. The next day, April 17th, she was found on fire when she was discovered in the backseat of a burning vehicle on the side of Interstate 10, near the Salome Road exit. Her own vehicle, a white Dodge Charger, was found illegally parked in the Culinary Dropout restaurant parking lot, in Tempe, Arizona.
The time of death was determined to be 1:17 AM on April 17th. Her cause of death was smoke inhalation from the car fire. The horrifying discovery during her autopsy was she was forced to drink bleach prior to her death. Mercedes was full of life, worked as a part-time exotic dancer, and aspired to be a fitness trainer. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends. And, she deserves justice. Who did this to her and why?
