The teenage experience in Northern California often includes large parties in natural settings: parks, campgrounds, nature preserves and Kiely Rodni, age 16, is no different from most of us who wanted to have a good time with other young people. She was last seen on Saturday, August 6, 2022 in Prosser Family Campgrounds (which locals call The Sanctuary), at a large 200-250 person party, near Truckee, California. The party was meant as a farewell celebration for graduating seniors from several area high schools in the Truckee, North Lake Tahoe and Reno communities, according to Rodni’s mother, Linsey Rodni-Nieman. Kiely graduated at 16 years old with honors, according to her mother.

There was alcohol and no adult supervision at this event. A friend, who attended this party with Kiely, decided to catch a ride with someone else because Kiely was not in a safe condition to drive. According to this friend, Kiely was to spend the night at the campground. Kiely’s phone last pinged at the party, but was later turned off. She and her vehicle has vanished and law enforcement has raised this case from a Missing Persons to an Abduction. The family has raised a $50,000 reward for information leading to Kiely’s return.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Placer County Sheriff’s Office’s dedicated tip line at 530-581-6320. Callers can remain anonymous.
