Alexis, age 29 at the time of her disappearance, was last seen on January 30, 2022, around 7:30 p.m. at a 7-Eleven gas station on Highway 29 South, in Anderson, South Carolina. The day before she went missing, she confided in her mother about her trepidation and fear that she wouldn’t make it to her upcoming 30th birthday, which was out of character. She normally prepared well in advance for her special day, but this year, Alexis didn’t do a bit of planning.

The next day, January 30th, Alexis’s mom received a worrying call from the father of her youngest child. He asked her mom if she had spoken with Alexis. He had met Alexis to give her some money towards gas. He said once they linked up, Alexis had her two kids get into his vehicle. The original plan was for her to follow him to his mom’s house, then head to her mother’s home from there. Instead, she pulled quickly around his car and left the gas station parking lot at a high rate of speed. He tried calling Alexis, but she wouldn’t pick up. No one heard from her on January 31st, and she was reported missing on February 1, 2022. Her car was found abandoned days later, on February 3rd, off I-85 in Greenville County, approximately 40 miles away, with her keys, purse, and ID inside.

Pheobe was last seen around 8.30 a.m. on May 15 near Airport Drive in Bundaberg. She was expected to catch a flight to Brisbane but never arrived at the airport terminal. A grey Hyundai Ix35, which she was last seen travelling in, has since been seized by police. Pheobe had been living with two housemates at a derelict property in Gin Gin, about 40 minutes west of Bundaberg.

A True Crime Tarot Reader Rant | Toeing the Line of Exploitation

True crime readings can be rewarding work and help families get the word about their missing or deceased loved one. There are instances when they provide insights in whereabouts or what happened, while other times offering peace to friends and loved ones. As such, channelers, diviners, mediums, psychics, and readers walk a fine line with being of service and exploitation.

It can be easy to slip off that line, but ethical readers know to always stay grounded and knowing their “why” in doing these types of readings. Is the “why” to bring awareness or enlighten or to gain likes and views? How much is too much to reveal about what happened to a deceased person? What if a missing person took their own life? We have to aim to use discernment on what and how much to share to the viewing audience about a case.

One thing I did not discuss in this video is there have been a couple of instances when a person who may be in “the know” or involved in a death or disappearance makes their way to my channel to watch the reading and even leave a comment. My intuition just knows. I have to be mindful of my safety, too.

Then there is the energetic heavy lifting of doing true crime readings. I have to be mindful of how delicate I say certain things about what I am seeing in the cards because loved ones are watching. Lastly, many people have their own opinions and email me or leave a comment under the video.

All of this is having to be managed when I consider taking on a case to do a reading and this is why I do not always accept or do high profile cases. I also do like helping families with limited resources with my readings.

That’s where I’m at with true crime and missing persons’ readings – checking in to see how I FEEL about still doing them and why I started in the first place.

No matter what you do you do in this life – check in and see where you’re at with it. Does it still align with your values? Is it time for a shift? Or, are things just right?

I am still in the contemplation and meditation phase of seeing how I feel about continuing doing true crime readings. I may only do them when I am fully called to a particular case, which may not always be a frequent thing on the channel. Or, I may take a break, or decide on a longer hiatus. I am not going to rush my decision, but instead, feel my way through to see if doing these types of readings still resonates with me.

Mystery Mystic Monday is back from a month-long hiatus. Today, January 30, 2023, we will be premiering four videos surrounding the disappearance of Nykari Johnson.

Nykari Johnson, age 16, is petite, standing at 4’9″ and weighing 108 pounds. She is described as kind and a homebody. She has been missing since December 27, 2022, just before the dangerous winter storms slammed Carmichael, California.

Sacramento County Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Amar Gandhi reported to the Sacramento Bee on January 26, 2022, “all investigative leads have been exhausted” regarding the case. “We cannot provide any further steps for the family,” Gandhi further stated. “If the community has more information they would like to bring forward, please submit them online at sacsheriff.com, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or they can call us at 916-874-5115.” This statement was not even a month after Nykari had gone missing.
