I recorded this video on 4/21/2021 and wanted to take time to reflect on my collecting habits of 2021.
Some of us are collectors at heart, and I am one of those people. I read professionally and I I like to have an array of decks to choose from in my reading practice. But, there comes a time when the acquisitions start to die down. How has your collection habits been going thus far in 2021? For me, it’s been a breathtaking journey – and I am grateful for every single phase I have experienced.
I have not backed a deck on Kickstarter in a really long time. I don’t have any pending preorders. I have 180 decks and when I get back to my parents’ home in the States, I will be culling my collection.
I have now become very clear, mindful and intentional on what I want my collection to look and feel like.
Here’s part 2 of a 6 part series on my decks that I shipped from the US to the DR and they have finally made it! It only took three months (it felt like eternity), but they made it safe and sound. I will record some videos in the future to discuss some of the decks that came with me on plane (my working decks), but for now, sit back, relax and enjoy as I re-unbox my boxes of decks that were shipped.

Here’s a deck in focus of a deck, by MahrukhXshop. I have been using this deck ALL for my client readings that delve into career, life purpose and money questions. It has 100 cards and is available on Etsy.
In this next lecture, we will discuss spiritual considerations surrounding aspects of collecting decks. We will discuss the compulsion to buy decks and the vicious cycle of overspending and underusing. We will look at the compromising positions we may find ourselves in when we are not in spiritual alignment with our collecting habits, such as: shopping addiction, intentionally or unwittingly purchasing counterfeits, and cultural appropriation. I will be hosting a live lecture, where new and existing students can discuss and ask questions.
