I’ve long since made the decision that 2020 is my depth year, where I refrain from purchasing new Tarot and Oracle decks. This will be a time where I will deepen my connection to the decks and books I have in my collection.

I’ve given myself a couple of caveats to my depth year, like allowing 3 decks from my current wish list to be purchased in 2020,  but are in various stages of the creation process. If I’m still feeling those decks in 2020, I will get them, otherwise, no new decks. I will consider selling or gifting decks next year to help cull my collection. But, I will also not pressure myself to get rid of decks, instead taking an organic approach to releasing them. I have identified 33 potential decks to sell or give away and when the time is right, I will let them go. Or, I may later decide some of these decks are mine to keep and take them off the list of potential give away/sell decks.

I have 143 decks in my collection and I have unique and beautiful connections with most of them. But, I’ve come to a point where I want a smaller footprint in life and it starts with my culling my collections. I do not have the largest collection in our Tarot community, but it’s clear I love me some decks. And, I love to read with multiple ones in my Tarot readings. I am not going to pretend I am a minimalist, when I am not. I, am, however, someone who is tired of acquiring things and ready to enjoy the things I already have.
