Deck in Focus: Oracle of Mystical Moments

Oracle of Mystical Moments.is a beautiful, whimsical, magical deck. A US Games Systems’ oracle deck, this tarot sized gem allows you to enter an alternate universe, one where your imagination can run wild. Buttery, good card stock, vivid, yet dreamy images, one can get lost in the card. Thankfully, the keywords and guidebook draw you back to the purpose at hand – to give a spot on reading – which this little deck does over and over again. I sometimes just take out the deck out to admire the images and keywords. It is great for 1 card draws and clarification in larger spreads. It plays so nicely with my Stretch Tarot and its’ sister deck, Vintage Wisdom Oracle.

Deck in Focus: The Power of Surrender Cards

Hello Gorgeous Souls~
This Deck in Focus installment looks at The Power of Surrender Cards. This wonderful oracle deck was created by Judith Orloff, M.D., published by Hay House. I’ve owned this deck for a couple of years now, and I use it regularly, at least weekly. The images are pretty, the keywords are sharp, specific, and poignant. The messages are written on the cards, so no guidebook. It is a deck that has given accurate readings and practical advice.

A new series on my channel is Deck in Focus, where I discuss a deck from my collection and my musings and impressions of the cards. I may do a reading with the deck or just discuss possible meanings of the cards. My Deck in Focus videos are different from unboxings because these are decks I’ve owned for awhile or have a well established relationship with. The Deck in Focus videos differ from reviews, because a review discusses aspects of a deck that is either liked or disliked by the reviewer. My Deck in Focus videos are all about decks I love and resonate with – for whatever reason. I discuss how I am currently using them, too.

Oracle Readings Without Guidebooks & Intuition

One of the ways I deepened my understanding of reading tarot intuitively was by practicing with oracle decks without guidebooks. By not relying on a guidebook for meaning, but instead looking at the pictures and going with my gut, I was able to experience how it is to read oracle cards intuitively.

Most of my independent oracle decks do not come with guidebooks, so it was easy to not rely on book meanings in that instance. Where the growth really occurred for me was when I set the guidebooks aside that did accompany my oracle decks and followed my intuition on what Spirit was trying to say.

When looking at oracle card images and keywords, a reader can glean a lot more information when they allow the space in their heart to let intuition guide them on the answers. Guidebooks can only go so far in answering a question, but the reader can go deep and pull the most appropriate, resonate answers from within. This is why experienced readers suggest to follow your intuition FIRST, then if you must, look to the guidebook SECOND for the meanings.

I also suggest that when doing readings with guidebooks, be sure to let your intuition guide you first, and then go to the book for clarification (if you must). An even better solution for when you are stumped by a card is instead of consulting the guidebook, to pull another card from the oracle or tarot deck, as this will further your intuitive growth.

I now seek out oracle decks without guidebooks, but I still use the ones that do have them, only intuitively.

My Hay House Oracle and Tarot Deck Collection

There are several publishing houses that create oracle and tarot decks, and Hay House is one of the larger outfits that produce tons of decks each year. Hay House was the first publisher of the decks I gravitated towards in the beginning of my Oracle Divination journey.

Their decks contain universal themes, are uniform in size, and are easy to obtain through Hay House’s website or on Amazon. The included guidebooks offers a generous amount of guidance and some even offers unique spread ideas for the oracle deck. The storage boxes are sturdy, which for those of us who likes to keep our decks in their boxes, is a gift.

Hay House creates mass produced decks, which is a good and bad thing. A good thing because it makes it so easy to obtain replacement decks if need be and you will not have to wait very long for a copy to be shipped. On the other hand, you can count on several people in the world holding the same Hay House decks you have, which may bother some people. For me, as long as the deck resonates with me or fulfills a specific need in my readings, I do not mind that every Tom, Dick and Harry in the world also owns that same deck.

In the above video, I discuss my Hay House collection in detail. Hay House was the producer of my very first oracle decks – Goddess Guidance Oracle and Messages from Your Angels Oracle Cards, both created by Doreen Virtue. I still have the Goddess Guidance Oracle, but have since gifted the Messages from Your Angels Oracle to a teenager who is just beginning his tarot and oracle journey. The Goddess Guidance Oracle is accurate and is both for “prescriptive” and “predictive” guidance in nature. I have worn this deck out over the years with constant on and off use of it.

I now have amassed a collection of oracle and tarot decks from many publishers, but Hay House is still one I check out from time to time. My last Hay House deck purchased was the Sacred Travelers Oracle by Denise Linn – I adore this deck! I also love Earth Magic by Steven D. Farmer. Collette Baron-Reid also has some phenomenal Hay House decks.
