George Floyd is heavy on my heart and Spirit tonight. I don’t know how to process all of these emotions I’m feeling right now. I am so sorry that we’re here, once again, facing the horror of white supremacy and over policing. I am so sorry this man lost his life in such a horrific way. I am sorry for my ancestors who were dragged, beaten, enslaved for hundreds of years. I am so sorry for my people who are dealing with carrying the weight of the legacy of slavery and racism on their already weakened shoulders.

8 minutes and 46 seconds was enough time to capture a murder on video for the world to see. Now, let’s see what happens in the coming days, weeks, months and years. Will we ever see justice?

Stories – A Modern Collaborative Oracle Deck

The lovely Sara Calvarese asked a bunch of Tarot readers to contribute to an oracle deck and I happily obliged. We present Stories – A Modern Collaborative Deck.

My contribution is found in the Crater card, where I tell the tale of a woman who is learning how to prioritize her needs into her ever expanding life. What are we prioritizing in our lives?

I sense Stories is a highly intuitive deck and will allow us to go deeper into the shadow themes of life. I have Sara’s 8th House Tarot and love it so much I plan to get the 2nd Edition at some point in the near future. She has a proven track record in deck production, which is why I trust her ability to see this project through to the finish line. The artwork is complete and the guidebook is written, making an August 2020 ship date VERY realistic.

Part 6: we explore the Devil, Tower, and Star cards.

Questions and Journal Prompts: 

  1. Do you know the herbs featured in the three major Arcana cards and if so, do they speak to the traditional RWS* card meaning? Why or why not? If not, how do you feel about that?
  2. If you don’t know the featured herbs in these three cards, in your personal research (hint – Google these herbs), do you find it really speaks to the card’s meaning? Why or why not?
  3. Imagery and symbols found in the cards – what pops and speaks to you? Why?
  4. What are your personal card meanings you’ve assigned to the featured cards?

I invite you to raise your discussion points or ask questions about the card meanings or working with this deck. I’ll compile a list, and record a video discussing your discussion points or questions and invite our study group community to chime in on the answers.

The above questions will be used as a basis for our future video study group sessions, but they may vary from time to time, depending on what comes up in our review of the cards.
